School Magazine Contents Page

 When starting the School Contents Page, I had in mind of keeping the same colour scheme and the font of the Front Cover, along with the colour of the text and stroke for 'Contents' similar to the sell lines from the front page

I have the main image as the tree as it an iconic thing within the school,all being on layer one

I then divided the yellow bar into segments so to hold the specific sections of the contents page, keeping with the colour scheme by alternating between black and yellow, adding a subsidiary image in the bottom left to add variety to the page, it being construction to the school, those on layer two

Next I add the text to the contents page, have the change of text colour so that it could be seen on the different colour background, keeping to the colour scheme, all the text on layer three

 Main Image

With the main image i tired to recreate what i had created on my draft magazine cover by having the back of a boy's head,I decided to use a fellow classmate due to him having short hair which was idea for my main image,it then transfer it to Photoshop to get rid of the background so it was plain white so the focus was on him, but with Music magazine,they never have the person the are featuring facing away from the camera and so when making my music magazine,my artist would be facing the camera

Also taking from my draft of the school magazine cover,I have inserted yellow footer bars at the top and bottom of the magazine so that it could also extra information that would be included in the fake school magazine, I then transfer the photo of my classmate into Indesign where I was making my school magazine cover,after inserting it in,I reconfigure it so that it was larger and was more on the cover,after doing so,i create a black bar which would hold my Masthead and Pug,the magazine cover now starting to resemble my draft

Development of Cover

After creating the Pug and black bar,I start to fill out the footer bars and Pug with information about the magazine,having the Pug tell the reader what's in a part of the magazine and the footer bar holding information about joining the Newspaper committee as that might interest reads of it,I then inserting lines after filling out the top footer bar and pug to mark out where i would put sell lines to get rid of blank space,I've also decreased the size of the footer bars so it would fit more of the main image on

It was time for me to create my Masthead and so I opened the application Photoshop to create it,after spending a while on it, I came up with this design but I came upon a problem which was a soon as i inserted it into Indesign, I had to manipulate it for it to fit properly on the cover,having to squish the image so that it would work for me, and so next time i have decided rather than trying to make a fancy design in Photoshop,it would be easier to do it in Indesign with the same amount of quality,after dealing with the Masthead,I pull several boxes along the lines where i would actually put the sell lines

Whilst during the time i took to photograph my main image, i also collected a subsidiary image and decided that i would use that during making the sell lines,to make it seem part of the magazine,I enter photoshot and place boarders around it so it wasn't a floating picture

This is my final product from my time using Indesign and Photoshop, and i had made some changes such at the sell lines being blue text with a weak black shroud along with my Splash,taken from my draft,with yellow text so i would standout and the strong black shroud around it helped significantly

Analysis of draft school cover

      MASTHEAD

I called the masthead 'Free lesson' due to the chance that it would be read during a free lesson but also it could be used to teach one or two thing, hence a 'free lesson'. The logo besides it is the King Henry VIII School Logo and so i used that to represent that it is specifically King Henry's School magazine and not a random one. The F of the masthead is red so that if it was an actual magazine, that would be that standing out feature so it would catch eyes,underneath the logo is the motto of the magazine

PUG                

With my Pug I tired to imitate the style of the pug of the example Q magazine give to us,which in their pug had an interview and so with my pug I did a similar thing with the pug horizontal to the masthead and inside details about a fake interview with the headteacher, the colour red was chosen to also catch a readers eyes similarly to the masthead

SELL LINES

 The sell lines that i came up with were just to fill the magazine and leave no empty space but they weren't entirely random as I tired to imitate again what magazine sell lines would be like and so they were full of reader bait,so that were things that would interest people to read the entire magazine and buy it rather than reading the front cover and putting it back on the shelf such as 'trips revealed' and a top ten list along with a possible bout between teacher to stir up interest.

                     Splash and Main Image

 With the splash, I decided to make it entirely out of capital letters to add emphasis that this was the main story of the newspaper,the main image behind the splash is a back of a head to make the read wonder who it is and go straight to the main article if they cant see the face,intending to be a new captain of the school rugby team,talked about on the splash,the image is a medium close-up as that is what is used by magazine if the main image features only one person.

 With the colour scheme for my draft school magazine,I went with the basic yellow, black and red as with them combine all stand out individually rather than one standing out over the others,the entire cover isn't coloured due to the fact that i didn't want to cover up any of the writing and so that is why there is white boxes around some of writing by the masthead and logo
